Follow Friday

Q: Have you broken up with a series? If so which one and why?

Yes. I broke up with the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton a while ago. I really enjoyed the first few books, but then the story got too diluted and the series felt more like a collection of sex scenes than an actual story. I don't have anything against a well-placed sex scene, but when the entire book is one, I lose interest.

I've heard there were lots and lots of sex scenes in her books. It was pretty much the reason why I avoided them. I too like a good lovin scene but I don't want my whole read to be made up of sex scenes. A shame too since she's a local author for me.

Here's my Follow Friday

Have a GREAT weekend!

ITA, a book can't live by sex scenes alone. I need some plot with my sex scenes. I haven't read any of the books, but that is good to know in case I ever want to pick one up. Thanks for visiting my FFF. Old follower.

I haven't heard of this one but I totally see why that would completely ruin the series. New GFC and Google + follower! My FF can be found at my blog Music Plus Books.
Wishing you a fantastic weekend,

I'm the same way! I don't mind a sex scene that actually means something (although, I prefer it to be not too graphic) but when it seems clear the author has just set out to write a sexy book, I lose interest fast.
