Musing Mondays

This week’s musing – courtesy of http://www.kwizgiver.com - asks…
Is there a particular book that is your nemesis–the book you’re determined to one day finish?

Middlemarch by George Eliot. Well, I did finish it, but I consider it my nemesis because it took me two tries to get through it and I still didn't enjoy it. I've heard so many people who absolutely adore it, and I actually love the rest of Eliot's works, but Middlemarch just doesn't do it for me.

Oh, I struggled with Middlemarch, too.

I don't see myself even trying to struggle through this one. :) I don't know that I have a current nemesis. Someday I plan on picking up Poisonwood Bible, but I don't think about it regularly, so I'm good. :)

I'm sorry it was so hard for you to get through. You tried and succeeded though.

George Elliot is not one of my favorite authors so good for you getting thought it.

Hi! Thanks for the visit to my blog!

I haven't read Middlemarch but most of my friends who have read it seem to adore it. I am frankly kind of intimidated by it.
