Musing Mondays
This week’s musing asks…
Do you think it makes you NOT (or less) “well-read” if there are certain genres that you won’t read because you KNOW you won’t enjoy them? Why?
Well, I do read pretty much every genre, so evern though I don't enjoy them all equally, I feel that I've read at least one of everything. However, if I hadn't I probably wouldn't consider myself less well-read than I am now. Learning to choose what you like or don't like allows readers to read more books. If you drag through one books because it's boring, then you're wasting time in which you could have read two other ones. Variety is great, but so is truly enjoying a story.

I agree that the primary reason to read is enjoyment...unless, of course, you're doing research or trying to understand something technical.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
I certainly don't think you should waste time reading books you don't like, but I also do think you should push yourself to try genres a bit out of your comfort soon, books you might think you will 'hate'.
I agree - I can't "waste my time" reading something I just don't enjoy. Especially if I don't have to.
I hardly have time to read the books I want to!
