Musing Mondays

This week’s musing asks…

Do you listen to audiobooks? Why, or why not?

I have a really hard time listening to audio books, actually. I lose concentration in the story and I find my mind drifting all over the place instead of where it's supposed to be. I prefer much more to hold the book in my hands and do the reading myself.

Same here - I can't concentrate on the story at all! It's OK if you're a commuter because it saves you quite a lot of time, but I still prefer real books.
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Nope, I am the same way too. I can hardly pay attention to a whole song on the radio, let alone an audiobook. I definitely prefer to read...now if I could just make up my mind on ereader vs print...

I have that same problem, too. Then my books went to audio, and I talked to the producer about it. He came up with the concept of AudioMovies: full cast, sound track, sound effects. The actors speak each time the character speaks.
I know Stefan - the producer - did an amazing job. I'm still a big fan of paper myself, but you can listen to AudioMovie tracks at my website and find out more about Stefan Rudnicki and his audiobook productions on Audible and at SkyboatRoad.com

I have audiobooks and I did have trouble concentrating. Tsk... that I don't try to check more books in this format. However, I listened to a Star Wars book audio sample in Amazon (a couple months ago)and I was very surprised by the sound effects included. It was like listening to a radio drama but with better sound effects and different character voices. I thought I was watching a movie. Man, if I didn't have so much expenses, I'd buy the audiobook. :D I wrote about this in my other blog, you're welcome to check it out. Audio Graphic Novels. I wonder if you've came across this site too.
