Booking Through Thursday

Who taught you to read?

My mom. She always read to me and my sister at bedtime, instilling a love for books and stories from really early on. She was the one who helped me sound out the words. I actually used the picture book she used as a kid to learn to read. Kind of great that we both used the same book..

I bonded with my dad over his favourite childhood book as well, it's amazing! I am loving all the family memories that are coming up with this question! Thanks for stopping by!

Great answer. It's kind of cool to go back and remember having our parents read to us. I love this week's BTT! Thanks for stopping by.

I honestly can't remember ever being taught to read. My mom says we had a learning video and that's how I learned, and I've seen this learning video but I don't remember being taught by it. I'll have to take her word for it though because I'm the only one who reads for fun in my house, I'm trying to get my little brother into it but he's easily distracted by other things.

My favorite picture book at a very young age was Mother Goose, I learned to read at a young age.
