Q: Happy Father’s Day! Who is your favorite dad character in a book and why?
Although he is not biologically Cosette's father, I would say Jean Valjean from les Miserables is one of the father figures that was most endearing to me. He is so complex, with both good and bad traits (like over protectiveness) that he seems like a real father, not just a fantasy version of one.

Great choice!! He really was so good to her. And you are right, he showed both good and bad traits, which is so much like most fathers.
I haven't read that book yet but he does sound like a good father!Old follwer :)
World of Books
I completely forgot about Jean Valjean, and I just watched a filmed version of the musical a few days ago (I've read the book, too). Really great choice!

Ooooh great choice! I didn't even think of the classics. Thanks for visiting Babies, Books, and Signs.
I have Les Miserables, and did start reading it, but never got around to finishing it so I wouldn't know. Maybe I should try to reread it sometime this summer
Les Mis is on my "classic TBR list" someday but I'm always intimidated by the time I'd need since I have to keep the blog up and I've never THAT far ahead.
My follow friday. Hope you visit!
I haven't read this but I've been dying too! Seems like a good choice.

Hopping through. Totally agree with Jean Valjean. I'm hoping to see the musical this summer (I haven't seen it for at least 10 years).
