The conversation continues, as several more of the gang arrive, and food is served. Part II. of the series.
This is the second book in this series and it was
just as interesting to read as the first installment.
I loved the abrupt beginning, throwing us right back
to where we left off when the previous book ended. This brusqueness works very
well with the tone of the whole story. The writing is sharp and scathing,
allowing only glimmers of redeeming qualities for the characters. As you read,
you really get a sense that all the voices, all the characters are unreliable
narrators with an agenda all their own. This makes for fascinating moments.
It’s not an easy book, and this one shouldn’t be
read without having read the first one, but it is definitely a great read, with
lots of psychological depth and tension. This is a series I do recommend.
