Musing Mondays
What is your favorite part of a review?
The kind of reviews that I prefer are the ones that are not necessarily all positive or all negative, but which give me an honest, balanced view of the book. I want to read about what kind of impression the book leaves, or if it's topic is unique. And, most of all, I want to see if the reviewer recommends the book to other people.

Yes! And I like a brief overview of the book, not a long synopsis.
I like reviews that say why a book bothers a person, or why they like it so much, so I can judge whether my own likes and dislikes would be similar to the reviewer.
I prefer a brief synopsis to a long one. I just don't like too many details but I do want to get a good feel for the book after reading a review.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Yeah, that sounds like a perfect review.

I agree - a well balanced review is always best.
