This week's question:
Series? Or Stand-alone books?
Well, I am a huge fan of both. My favorite book of all time, Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky is obviously a stand alone. I like the resolution a full, self-sufficient novel provides.
On the other hand, some of my most treasured books are series. Harry Potter is a masterpiece of invention, and my favorite fantasy series, Dragonlance Chronicles and Legends by Weis and Hickman, is lodged permanently in my heart.
So, hmm, not much of an answer. I am hopelessly infatuated with both styles.

I've never read Crime and Punishment but you obviously love it maybe I should dig my copy out and give it a go.

I love Harry Potter too although I do think that a good chunck could have been cut from the last one. I think both have merrits and it's okay not to have a preference.
I love Crime and Punishment. But have you ever been a few books into a series and felt like you've wasted your time? Or that the author should have stopped writing after the last book?
We share the fondness for the Harry Potter series. My answer is a bit complicated. Read it here.
