Booking Through Thursday

This week’s Booking Through Thursday question asks…

What do you think of censoring books BECAUSE of their intended age? Say, books too “old” for your kids to read?

For me censoring is anathema. I'd much rather my kids read something that may not be correct for their age than to have books changed, modified, or removed from their presence. I would hope my kids would listen to me if I asked them, not ordered them, to please wait a few years before reading a particular book.
Besides, nothing in a book will be nearly as bad as what's on tv or in movies. Censoring is a huge "no-no" for me.

I heartily agree with you about censorship. I'm very much of the opinion that instead of trying to censor books, parents should be willing to talk to their children about what they're reading.
