Q: What is one book that you would be nervous to see a movie adaption of because you think the movie could never live up to the book?

I'd have to say any of the Dragonlance Chronicles or Legends books. Unless they went ahead and did it like Lord of the Rings, with a huge budget, I'd be very wary of seeing any of them. Fantasy books are hard to pull off.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and following! Returned :)

I agree with you that fantasy books, and really any book with supernatural or fantastical creatures is hard to pull off. That's why even though I'd be really excited, I'd be cautious about getting my hopes up that it's going to be amazing. Although studios are getting better and better at making it seem lifelike.

This is very true. Especially with epic fantasy. They just can't do it right unless their formula is oh so exact.

Thanks for the follow. I followed you too!

I agree. Fantasy is hard to pull off without a huge budget. But if it is done well, it's amazing to see fantasy unfold in front of you.

Thanks so much for the follow; I just returned it! Yes, fantasy is really hard to pull off. I couldn't concentrate on the LoTR movies, because it felt like way too much talking and too little action, but the books completely absorbed me. I haven't given the movies another chance yet, though I probably should. :p

I agree with Kaye M. It's hard to pull off realistic sets/costumes in fantasy, but sometimes when producers do get it right they spend way too much time filming those awesome sets and not enough time telling the story.

I've never read this one but I agree, fantasy is really hard to pull of without losing things in the process or everything just looking cheesy!
