Q: What is a deal breaker for you in a book? For example, do you abhor love triangles? Or can’t deal with bad editing?
For me, if the book is boring, it's game over. I'm very good about giving books numerous chapters to pick up the pace and to catch my attention, but if around the halfway mark I'm still thinking about what I'm going to have for dinner, then I seriously consider putting the book down.

i can't force myself to read a boring book either... and why should you?? i usually give it three chapters or 50 pages.
That's certainly the biggest problem! I'm not the type that gives up on books but I admit it is really annoying to read a book that you don't like - especially if it is for review purposes!

I used to read every book all the way through, no matter what. I hated giving up on something, particularly if it was recommended reading. Now, due to a shortage of time, I will give up on a book. I hate doing it, but there you go.
Lately, it seems like the books I give up on are the second book in a series...wonder why?

Oh yes! I really try to give a book a lot of chances though because I feel guilty for quitting on an author and his/her book. But life is too short! And there are so many books to read!

I hate boring books too! ;) I DO try to give a book at least 50 pages, though. Unless there's something ELSE that's bothering me as well (like grammar, etc.)

Boring is the worst. I try to never give up on a book but if I can't get through a page without falling asleep...well...deal breaker.
