Follow Friday

Q: Define what characteristics your favorite books share. Do they all have a kick ass heroine or is the hot love interest the Alpha Male?

I would have to say that I love an unreliable narrator. Some of my favorite books, The Egyptologist by Arthur Phillips, Angelica (also by Phillips), Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, and many others have this trait. There's something so fabulous about having to think for yourself and not taking the narrator's accounts at face value.

Love your answer. I always like books that you can't really predict. If their predictable, I lose interest quickly.

Thanks for stopping by our blog.

New Follower. =)

I loved your answer. I've never thought about that before. I suppose I do catch myself going, "is that how it REALLY happened, or is that just how YOU saw it?"

Sometimes, I find it to be annoying though, especially in first person YA books where the character is being so dumb about things. I just want to slap her and hear the story objectively. But I guess it's still a challenge to try and figure out.

Great Gatsby anyone? I like it too, when stuff's written from First Person, you can never be sure what's true and what's not :)
