I thought this one would be a bit easier than it really was. I had to really think to drag up the female characters that have stayed with me.
I really love the Mary Russell series, which is srtange since I abhor non-canon Sherlock Holmes stories, but this one I truly enjoyed. She's spunky and intelligent, which for me is a must.
Of couse, Elizabeth Bennet is another great female of literature, a complex and imperfect heroine with whom we can all relate.
