Theme Thursday
Theme Thursdays is a fun weekly event at Reading Between Pages that will be open from one thursday to the next. Anyone can participate in it. The rules are simple:
•A theme will be posted each week (on Thursday’s)
•Select a conversation/snippet/sentence from the current book you are reading
•Mention the author and the title of the book along with your post
•It is important that the theme is conveyed in the sentence (you don’t necessarily need to have the word)
Ex: If the theme is KISS; your sentence can have “They kissed so gently” or “Their lips touched each other” or “The smooch was so passionate”
This week's theme: Emotion
33 Days by Bill See
"I can see the pained expression on Ian's face, but I'm getting tired of making nice. 'If that's what floats your boat', I say. 'But we want to do something more than help rich men get richer.'
'You make it sound like we're slaves,' Sandy said pointedly. 'We're being rewarded for the hard work we do. Everybody wins. You'll see.'
'No, you'll see,' I say. 'Everyday you cary out someone else's marching orders, you're selling yourself on the cheap. Little by little, day by day, you become less and less until you don't even remember what your dreams were.'"
